Curious George with Sprinkles

February 8, 2014 by Leia

I’ve had a busy week y’all. I made three cakes in three days.  Whew.  Two were for my own kiddos- trying to squeeze both of their birthdays in before we move in a week.  Eeek!

This birthday cake was for two brothers who apparently love Curious George and sprinkles.

The inside was funfetti, just in case there weren’t enough sprinkles on the outside.  (wink wink)

I used this tutorial from The Cake Blog to do the sprinkles.

I did two 8 inch round cakes, then torte and filled them with a Roasted Marshmallow Frosting from this post by Sweetapolita.

I covered the cake with a butter cream frosting, and used that for the piping work as well.  I’m working on a tutorial for this technique for you all.  I’ll let you know when that is up.  🙂

Have a great week.  Things might be kind of quiet here on the blog during this big move.  We are heading to Montana!  Any connections there?  I’d love to hear from you.

Haha, you’re so funny. 🙂 Maybe you should move to Montana, so I can have a little more family there. 😉

Hello there!

I think food can bring people together. I value family dinners and sharing good conversations over a slice of pie or some saucy nachos. Food makes people happy, and I want to help with that. Let's dig deeper →
