I’ve been pretty terrified to make a wedding cake. They are so big, and I just feel like so much can wrong with them. Plus, when it’s for a wedding, people want it to be perfect.
This cake was for a youth activity at church. It was supposed to be a ‘wedding cake,’ but not for a real wedding. I was ok with that. Now I could get some practice, but I didn’t feel too pressured.
I was also given free reign over the design. So I was able to take a technique I had been wanting to try and actually do it!
Anyway, I am really in love with the rustic-chic-trend going on right now. I was so excited to make something pretty, and so pleased that it turned out!
The following photos were taken by Teri Voyles of Teri Voyles Photography.
(Except for the pics with my logo on it.)
It was fun to have Teri there to capture the setting up process.
I avoid the camera like it’s nobody’s business, so I’m glad she got some of me in action.
And my little girl, Brylee, was there to lend hand as well.
She proved to be a good little helper.
This cake was just what I needed to boost my confidence to do big cakes. I have learned so much with each cake experience I’ve had. This was no exception.
I can’t wait to do another!
